The Guild "go to town"
“go to town” is our Christmas Exhibition in Penzance, it will be held upstairs at Circa 21, a new, successful and quirky establishment selling artisan gifts and retro finds, found at 21 Market Jew Street, Penzance. Exhibition runs from Monday 8 to Saturday 13 December between 10am and 5pm every day.
The Guild’s Annual festive get-together, our “Winter Warmer” will be held at The Apple Tree Café, Trevescan, Sennen (just off the A30), on Sunday 7 December between 4 and 6pm.
Our work will include; textiles, woodwork, jewellery, painting, prints, handmade cards and Christmas decorations.
We will be accompanied by “The Purls” - ukulele players. Do join us for mulled wine and mince pies.
Four Penwith artists have come together as 'Atelier Arts' to show a variety of approaches to the subject 'Evidence'. Both two and three dimensional works in paint, ceramics and textiles engage with the concept of the persistence of place as well as showing evidence of the process of making, as demonstrated in the elegant pottery of ceramic artist Serena Gwynn and the vibrant textile vessels of Pat Furley.
Paintings by Jenny Annely and Carole Ann Grace are concerned with the traces of past industrial heritage and the significant marks left on the landscape, expressed as lingering memories and presences.
Based in Penzance and Treen, all four artists have a strong affinity to the Cornish landscape and its people, celebrating the diversity to be found in this locality with a joyous collection; evidence of their creativity and skills.
Saturday 3 - Friday 9 May 10.30 am - 5.30 pm daily.
Lisa Lucas is exhibiting at Morvah Schoolhouse Gallery as their featured artist for the month of March. The newly refurbished café space will host the exhibition entitled ‘Hope Springs Eternal’. 'I hope the fresh lightness of my work will be a like a breath of Spring air to all who visit Morvah Schoolhouse. I really enjoyed exhibiting in the unique gallery space last summer with fellow members of the Lands End Guild of Artists so when I was invited back for a solo ‘mini’ show in the café I was delighted!’ The show runs until April 30.
